Content Marketing is a big game these days, with most companies now understanding the importance on focusing on content that converts.
Putting the right content in front of your audience can help create warm leads for your business, resulting in a wider sales funnel that brings in more targeted potential clients, and makes the sales process easier and faster for your teams.
By nature, creating and distributing great content is time consuming. Learning the pain points of a specific target audience, what kind of information they want to receive, and the best channel to get that information to them with, and then taking that information and writing and publishing content is a full-time job.
Unfortunately while many businesses are creating content on some level, they’re simply too busy or lack the in-house expertise to put together a comprehensive strategy. 70% of the content created is never actually used.
Of the content that does get out in front of buyers, 54% of them believe the information they get is useless. This doesn’t mean it’s bad content – it means it was the wrong information in front of the wrong audience.
To get a better sense of what your audience wants to know about and to make your content work for you, follow these 3 steps:
Invest in Data: Set up Google Analytics or another data gathering software to track visits and engagement on your website and social media channels to be able to better understand your audience.
Create Content for your Customers: Don’t think ‘What can I write about today’, rather focus on ‘What do my clients want to know’.
Repurpose your Material: Recycle already created content on different channels and make small tweaks to attract different audiences.
